Millions and millions of Xbox360 owners are rejoicing today because the most anticipated Xbox 360 game was released today — Halo 3.

I’m not an Xbox fan, but this game looks like alot of fun so I’m probably going to breakdown and buy an Xbox 360 just so i can play this game.

Anyone know of any good HDTV + Xbox 360 deals ?  I’m in need of a good HDTV too.

You can order Halo 3 online from the following retailers:

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for PS3

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for the PS3.

I’m getting really psyched about Uncharted.  It sort of takes me back to good old days of playing Pitfall on my Atari 2600 for hours and hours on end except Uncharted has next gen ultra high quality graphics and environments.  Its looks incredible.  Since GTA4 was delayed, this game might be the one that forces me to go buy that HDTV.

PS3 New Release – Heavenly Sword

Gamespots Review of Heavenly Sword on EBGAMES.com
by Aaron Thomas.

I definitely want to play this game.  It looks pretty amazing and it did get a good review from Gamespot.  The only con is that its too short.  I’m thinking that if they want to sell these games for $59.99 they are going to have to make it so it at least takes a few weeks to beat.  I don’t think you should ever be able to complete a game in just a matter of hours.  What’s the point of that?  Are we supposed to play it through at harder difficulty levels?

Being an avid gamer, I have rarely played through an entire game and then replayed it again all the way through.  Actually, I don’t think I have ever done that.  I tend to get bored quickly so the games have to be really good to hold my attention.

This upcoming weekend or sometime I will probably end up renting Heavenly Sword.  I can’t justify purchasing it, but renting Heavenly Sword is a good option for me.

If you like God of War (i’ve heard it compared to that game alot) but with a hot CG girl as the main character — then give this game a try.  I personally am looking forward to playing this one so I’ll be renting it from Gamefly probably sometime this week.

The Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion for PS3

September 12, 2007 on 12:02 am | In Games, PS3 | 1 Comment

So, when i got my Playstation3 I also bought The Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion.  This game is awesome.  I had never played any of the Elders Scroll games before so this is my first one. I read some reviews and it looks like other big game sites love this game.  I’ve seen ratings as high as 9.5 – I think that was Gamespot.com that gave it the good rating.

If you have a PS3 and enjoy epic role-playing adventure games then this is the one for you.

The graphics are fantastic (i’m playing on a Sony 24″ TV and the games still look great!).  Boy i can’t wait until i get that HDTV so these games really shine, I’m sure there are things about the games I’m not seeing.

The voice acting is top-notch too.  Just about every character has something to say to you though it seems they got the same actor to do alot of the voices for different characters.  I might be wrong.

The sound and music is excellent.  You know when your in enemy territory because the evil music plays and when you are just wondering around the enormous, georgous land you’ll hear more peaceful music.

Overall the game is excellent and very polished.

Go buy it. Play it. and let me know how far you are.

I’m currently Level 4 after 11 days in game-time passed.

PS3 vs. XBOX360 vs. Wii

September 6, 2007 on 10:15 pm | In PS3 vs. XBOX360 vs. Wii | 4 Comments

Let the war begin!

At least for me, this question isn’t so cut and dry.  I’ve seen the games on the Xbox360 and graphically they looked impressive but up until I saw the Halo 3 game I didn’t really think there was anything worth buying the system for.

I really wanted a PS3 back even before any of the new consoles came out.  I thought Sony was going to deliver a knock out punch, but instead they decided to drag themselves through the ground by making a console that was out of most peoples price range.  Not everyone is willing to spend $3,000 on a PS3, only a small majority of the population would go to such expense.  Kudos to Sony for finally! dropping the price on the PS3 and offering up some extra bonus items too — I’m supposed to get 5 Blu-Ray movies in the mail sometime soon I hope.  Still waiting for them.  Let’s hope they arrive soon.  I own about 30 PS2 games so that was what mainly swayed me to buy a PS3.  I still have alot of games that I haven’t finished yet that are great. Vice City, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Superman Returns, San Andreas, Bully, and Tomb Raider Legends.  PS3 is really lacking in games right now, but we’re looking forward to this year because we’re told alot of games are coming out.

Ah, the Wii.  Perfect in design and perfect to play.  I don’t actually own a Nintendo Wii but I have relatives that have this system and its fantastic.  We played the built in games non-stop for hours when the Wii first came out.  The controller is innovative and light weight and they respond very well.  And its the only system that you play with and maybe, just maybe you’ll walk away with a broken nose or worse yet a broken TV.  Now the other 2 consoles aren’t that Hardcore.  Sadly, I only played the gamecube a little bit and never really got into the games on the gamecube.  I played animal crossing, but after you play GTA or Half Life its damn hard to sit there and play animal crossing.  It gets kind of boring.  The Wii has no doubt proven what I’ve been saying for years.  Great graphics are only a nice to have.  If you’re game looks incredible but doesn’t play well, then your game will suck.  But you can have an excellent game with excellent gameplay with horrible graphics and it can still be a great game.  I think too much emphasis is put on the graphics and not enough on the gameplay alot of times.

So there you have it, Rob’s perspective on the 3 next generation consoles.  So what do you have to say?
